The course teaches barbering with special emphasis on practical training. Students blend theoretical training and practical training daily. The theoretical training is conducted in a classroom setting consisting of lectures and demonstrations. Practical training takes place in our separate clinic, which offers barber services to the public. REQUIREMENTS: -8th Grade Education -16 Years old INSTRUCTION METHODS: 1. Lecture 2. Demonstrations 3. Video 4. Practice on mannequins 5. Hands-on Clients COURSE LENGTH: 1250 Hours: 36 weeks (9 Months minimum) -After completing your hours, you receive a 9-month temporary license -Must take and pass both practical and theoretical exams SCHEDULE: 8:30 am - 5 pm (Monday - Thursday) COURSE COSTS: Initial Deposit: $500 Registration Fee: $65 Tuition: $10,000 Books & Supplies: $915 FINANCING OPTIONS: Payment Plans OVR Career Link Flexbuy Other Lenders and Private Financing available COURSE GOALS: Upon completion of the course, the graduate should possess the required knowledge and skills to pass the Pennsylvania State Board of Barber Examiners examination, and gain entry-level employment in the barbering profession. In addition to theoretical knowledge, the student shall be able to perform all barbering services including regular haircuts, style haircuts, shaves, facials, and advanced design techniques with entry-level professional barbering abilities.
